Disney has filed a lawsuit against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and other state officials, claiming that they have engaged in a "targeted campaign of government retaliation" against the company ( https://twitter.com/NBCNews/status/1651259512936964096) . The lawsuit centers around a feud over the governance of Disney's special district, which includes the theme park and surrounding areas. According to the lawsuit, state officials have been retaliating against Disney for not supporting their political agenda by denying the company permits and other approvals necessary for the operation of the park. The suit claims that the state officials have violated Disney's constitutional rights and engaged in "intentional interference" with the company's business operations ( https://twitter.com/oliverdarcy/status/1651257243025694723) . "Disney has been a proud member of the Florida community for many years, and we have always sought to work collaboratively wi...

Media Ethics

If I came across this I would much rather not take a photo of this, and interfere with this sudden attack. No man should be hurt without a reasoning. Coming from how the acts from police officers in the recent and past years there's been a lack of trust for our safety put in the hands of policemen/women. This is what we rely on for our safety and for the children's safety.  Granted, some would much rather publicly show how awful police can be for just beating down on some homeless man on the street, but would you much rather stop that? It's the same with seeing those cruel videos of people abusing animals for their own 'pleasure', or maybe less vulgar, of a video recording of someone recording an serious situation instead of acting on it or calling for emergency help. What does that solve? There are plenty of other examples such as the TikToker, Alex Bodger, who filmed a horrific video of a father whose been stabbed for asking a man to stop vaping sense his daughte...

First Amendment

I'd expect the ones who were born in the late 1900's and 1800's to know more about the amendments compared to those who are living in the 21st generation (2000's). From what I've gathered, my mom and grandma had similar responses with the freedom we are granted from the first amendment. My grandma mostly spoke about the freedom of speech and religion, one is our rights to freely speak on what we wish that should be heard when questioned, and the other is more of an expression of your beliefs whether cultural or not. My mom mostly pointed out about freedom in general sense they do give you your rights when being detained, as she has went through that quite a bit for reasons. Meanwhile, I figured the differences between my family and friends would kind of click, just barely. One of my friends kind of knew most of the freedoms, and pointed out the misuse of freedom of speech. Which I'd agree on most of her parts. It's been mostly used in an excuse for most gro...

Covering a Speech

I've watched a TED talk by Megan Kamerick about "Women should represent women in media", and found some parts the were interesting. Firstly, I'd like to pick at the idea of Women representing Women instead of just Men representing them is probably a better way for when it comes to having a voice heard. Some men wouldn't want women being put in the mix of strong topics such as political views, or hard working jobs. Instead they prefer them as a material, or a low standard housewife. Which by my point, is vulgar, and down right discriminative.  One thing that stood out was the 11-year old girl story, and the way the article represented the 18 year old men were 'drawn' or 'seduced' from the victim. "These boys will have to live with this for the rest of their lives". The victim was only mentioned of the way she dressed and worn makeup in the Times article. The Time's revisits this after public backlash on the presentation they put out,...

Broadcast Writing

A Lake Charles man is accused for leading officers in a multi-state pursuit with endangering his 2-year old child in his vehicle. A injured victim who gave information on the suspect on a domestic dispute call: Bryon H. White, 43-year old. Victim was trying to get away from White with their child, before getting her leg ran over by a Jeep, White then fled the scene. Deputies found White in I-210 Texas, where the chase started, but then called off then on again when found in I-10. White crashed his vehicle in Harris County, transporting him and the child to Texas hospital. There where White was then charged with numerous charges in both states. The victim and child are being treated and in safe condition. This story really gets me upset for just the child alone. I'd hate having to see my own parents in a lot of distressing events, only to be in complete fear the whole time. In other words, I'm only glad they're being treated after all this and so is the woman. What I want to...

Mental Awareness: Self-care and Coaching

Mental health is always important no matter what gender you are, Male or Female. People think m en do not go through it, people have debates if they do which I find it to be silly and unnecessary. Women find it odd that men do. They can become "emotional" and are "sensitive" is not 'attractive' or however they so see it. Which is entirely fine for men to go through emotional states behind closed doors. What matters most is that we are human, not because we are said gender, not because we are said ethnicity. It is fine to have a sudden sign of femineity if you are a male, it is fine to have a more masculine sign when you are upset if you are a female. What matters most is that you are who you are.   Myself, I am a female, and I go through rollercoasters of emotions. Based on childhood trauma, I go through depression and anxiety. For now, I want to focus on those topics as they share similar traits when dealing with low Self-esteem. There are ways you ca...
